Meisner is best known for co-writing and singing lead vocals on the Eagles’ 1975 top-5 hit “Take It To The Limit”.
In 1971, Meisner, Glenn Frey, Don Henley and Bernie Leadon, founded the Eagles.
Meisner left the Eagles in 1977 due to “exhaustion” and was replaced by Timothy B. Schmit.
Leadon left the Eagles in 1975 due to creative differences and was replaced by Joe Walsh.
When Frey passed away in 2016, Henley became the last founding member remaining with the Eagles.
Henley, along with Schmit, Walsh, Frey’s son Deacon, and country singer Vince Gill make up the current Eagles roster.
Our condolences, thoughts, and prayers are with Meisner’s family and friends.
Thank you, Randy, for the music and may you take it to the limit one more time in “Rock ‘n Roll Heaven”.
