Hey, y’all! We just learned that signer/songwriter Eric Carmen died in his sleep over the weekend.1
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Carmen first rose to fame in the early 1970s as lead singer of The Raspberries, their biggest hit being “Go All The Way” (peaking at #5 in 1972)2. After the band broke up, he pursued a solo career with hits including his biggest hit “All By Myself” (peaking at #2 in 1976)3.
In 1988, he had his 2nd and 3rd biggest hits, “Make Me Lose Control” (peaking at #3)4 and “Hungry Eyes” (peaking at #4)5, respectively.
You can listen to Carmen’s music and more songs from back in the day on “Chillin’ With Steve”.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Carmen family.
Thank you, Eric Carmen, for all the music and may you forever grace the stage in “Music Heaven”.
Here’s a video from a 2007 reunion of The Raspberries…
