“We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” - Walt Disney
Nashville (a.k.a. “Music City”) is not just known for country music and the Grand Ole Opry. They’re also famous for their hot chicken.
According to legend, Nashville Hot Chicken was created in the 1930s by a woman who wanted to get back at boyfriend for “coming home late with a little more than sweat around his collar.”1 Her plan for revenge failed, as her boyfriend Thornton Prince III liked it so much, he actually took the recipe and made a successful business out of it.2
My opportunity to try Nashville Hot Chicken came as some folks at a conference my wife and I were attending invited us to have lunch with them at Hattie B’s in Midtown Nashville. Mary declined, but I decided to join them for the opportunity to try Nashville’s famous dish.
Hattie B’s offers several levels of heat. I ordered the fried chicken tenders as shown in the above photo. For this adventure, I ordered one (1) tender each with the following levels… HOT, DAMN HOT, and their hottest level… SHUT THE CLUCK UP!!!
You can watch me try each one in the video below…
Now that I’ve tried Nashville Hot Chicken, I’d like to know where in Nashville I can find the best milkshakes. :)
Have you tried genuine Nashville Hot Chicken? If so, where did you try it and what are your thoughts?
Thank you for reading and please feel free to share this blog and video with your family and friends.
Until next time…
Peace Out, Y’all!
